Diana Ross is celebrating her 75th Diamond Diana Birthday in a major way. After performing her own tribute at the 61st Grammy Awards, the R&B legend is gearing up to release a new film called Diana Ross: Her Life, Love and Legacy, in partnership with Fathom Events.
The two-hour documentary will feature a remastered version of Ross’ iconic 1983 Central Park concert, never-before-seen footage and special messages from the Ross family about the superstar’s legacy. It will play in 700 U.S. theaters on her birthday, March 26, and March 28 at 7 p.m. local time.
“I envisioned a dream and that’s what I created over those two days in Central Park. I picked a goal, and then imagined all the details,” Ross said in a press statement. “I believe imagination is magical, that we can think of something and bring it into being.”
Fathom Events CEO Ray Nutt added, “We are thrilled to kick off this year-long celebration of an icon like Diana Ross in conjunction with her 75th birthday with this special screening event in movie theaters worldwide. As we are always looking to bring the best-in-class experiences to our viewers, we are excited to bring the legacy of Diana Ross to fans and music lovers everywhere.”
