Miguel is going to 2019 Grammys a happy man. The progressive songster’s fourth studio album, War & Leisure, has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with over 500,000 units sold.
It gets better. “Sky Walker,” the album’s lead single featuring Travis Scott, is now double-platinum, and “Come Through and Chill” with J. Cole is now certified gold. The first single went number one on urban radio last spring, becoming his first chart-topper as a lead star since 2012’s “Adorn.”
“Smiling [right now] love you and everyone that helped me with this album,” Miguel tweeted on Wednesday.
At the 61st Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 10), Miguel is competing for Best Urban Contemporary Album (War & Leisure) and Best R&B Song (“Come Through and Chill”).
On April 27, Miguel will headline the second annual Sol Blume Festival in Sacramento, with Jessie Reyez.
