After releasing three critically-acclaimed albums, Solange can finally take a seat at the gold table. It has been reported by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) that A Seat at the Table, the soul-defying artist’s 2016 release, is now certified gold with over 500,000 copies sold. This advance becomes Solange’s first project to land this achievement.
“Cranes in the Sky,” the LP’s Grammy-winning lead track, became a certified gold single a year after the album’s issue date.
On another note, Solange is gearing up to drop her fourth studio album. The jazz-inspired record is expected to be “warm, fluid and more sensual” than A Seat at the Table. She also wants the tracks on the upcoming LP to “bang and make your trunk rattle.”
In performance news, Solange is playing at Coachella 2019 in April, and Bonnaroo 2019 in June.
