British singer Nao makes her way from across the pond to serenade music lovers for an all-new episode of NPR’s Tiny Desk.
The First Lady of wonky funk started her 18-minute jam session with “If You Ever” off her recent album Saturn. Accompanied by two amazing background vocalists and a stellar band, Nao and her talented bunch fell into a groove that carried them through the entire performance.
Nao then slipped into a softer stripped version of “Bad Blood,” the lead single off her For All We Know debut.
Keeping with the mellow down-tempo energy, Nao shifted into “Orbit.” She wrapped the show with “Make It Out Alive,” a mid-tempo selection about navigating through life’s tough times and wondering if you’ll make it to the other side of happiness.
Nao recently signed on for Afropunk Brooklyn 2019 in August. She will also play at other festivals this summer, including The Ends Festival, Parklike, Ottawa Bluesfest, and Liverpool International Music Festival.
