The world is at Solange‘s mercy. The unrivaled revisionist just released her fourth studio album titled When I Get Home.
Featuring soundbites from black Hollywood titians Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen, the 19-track record ranges from interludes and intermissions to full tracks that go beyond the earthy sounds of her Grammy-nominated predecessor A Seat the Table.
Prior to releasing When I Get Home, Solange mentioned the body of work would have “a lot of jazz at the core.” She continued, “But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.”
Before sending her When I Get Home into the music atmosphere, Solange proved she was (and always will be) down with the culture. She launched her website by taking over BlackPlanet, while teasing fans with artistic visuals that featured hints of new vibes. She also paid homage to her hometown of Houston and H-town rappers Mike Jones.
Solange will have endless festival opportunities to promote When I Get Home. She is slated to play at Coachella 2019 in April, Bonnaroo 2019 and Parklife 2019 in June, and Lovebox 2019 in July.
