Fantasia will end her musical hiatus next month. The rock soul pioneer has announced her new single “Enough” will arrive on Friday, May 3.
Not only is she premiering the official audio, but Tasia will also share an accompanying visual. She teased details on the single and its corresponding video in late March, announcing that she was executive producing the video alongside Derek Blanks.
Fantasia revealed she shot a video scene while being drenched in 45 degrees freezing rain. Judging by the intimate snapshot and her beautiful caption dedicated to her husband, who stayed by her side throughout the shoot, “Enough” sounds like a powerful love song.
The impending single is expected to be the lead offering from her forthcoming independent album. The new project, which will be her first non-major release, will serve as the follow-up to 2016’s The Definition Of…, her last album on RCA Records.
“Twelve years is a long time and I plan on doing it for as long as I can. But when you’re getting up on that stage and you’re away from your family and the sacrifices you make when you’re out here, you want to do what your heart is telling you to do,” Fantasia told Rated R&B in 2016 about creative control. “You want to create music and be in that space you’re in and share that with the audience. I’m at that place right now where I just couldn’t do what they wanted me to do or record a song just because it was sent to me. That’s where the fight came in for me on this album.”
