A new Raphael Saadiq is on the way. The superb musician has shared “Something Keeps Calling,” the lead single off his upcoming Jimmy Lee album, which is due out August 23 via Columbia Records.
Accompanied by renowned guitarist Rob Bacon, a troubled Saadiq sings about the stress of life that can sometimes weigh us down. His worries don’t last long, reducing their duration to “at least tonight.”
Saadiq packages his new album bulletin and his new single with official tour dates. Named after his first album since 2011’s Stone Rollin’, the six-date trek will launch at the El Rey Theatre on August 23 in Los Angeles and will end on September 10 at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on September 10 in Brooklyn, New York.
Ahead of the promotional tour, Saadiq is sharing the Afropunk Paris bill with Solange, Janelle Monáe, Lizzo, and Masego. The two-day festival is happening on July 13 and 14. Tickets information is here.
Tickets for the Jimmy Lee Tour go on sale Friday, June 14. The album is available for pre-order today.
