Lyfe Jennings offers some comedic relief in the official music video for his true-to-life single “Accusing Me.”
The Cricket-directed video finds Jennings, and his love interest (played by comedian Jess Hilarious) going through lovers quarrel outside a club about posting more pictures of him and her on his social media. Jennings insists he doesn’t have anything to hide, but Hilarious doesn’t buy it. From posing as a receptionist at his job interview to faking as a bouncer at a night club, Hilarious goes to great lengths to prove him wrong. You’ll have to watch the entire video to see if she finds catches him in a lie or not.
“Accusing Me” is the first take from Jennings’ seventh and final album, 777, due out August 26. The album will feature guest spots from Tank, Bossie Bad Azz, Bobby V, and Algebra Blessett.
“This is a task that requires soul-searching and the audacity to vocalize one’s mistakes,” wrote Jennings about his departure from music and his next album. “I believe I’ve done that, honestly, over the past decade. I just hope this last album finds you better off than the previous 6 before it.”
In anticipation of 777, Jennings has been playing select shows across the nation. Get additional ticket details here.
