When Justine Skye sings, we listen. The contemporary R&B singer has dropped a new track called “Maybe,” and it’s everything we never knew we needed.
This Dre Skull-produced solo has a sleek and intriguing soundscape that treasures the delicate intones of Skye’s alluring voice. She sings sincerely about finding the right guy who desires the same deep, intimate energy she initiates.
“Maybe” is the first recording from Skye as a new independent artist. The New York native, who is no longer on the Republic/Roc Nation roster, has announced her “freedom” in a since-deleted Instagram story. She debuted her new song under the Nynetineth LLC imprint.
In more music news, Skye appeared on two amazing tracks on Blood Orange’s new mixtape Angel’s Pulse. Prior to linking up with Orange, Skye premiered a single titled “Build” featuring Arin Ray. The video followed shortly after.
The new co-star of BET’s Tales is silently working on a follow-up to her debut album, Ultraviolet, which she released last year January.
