K. Roosevelt has been gone for a minute, but he’s back with new music. The alternative R&B cat has premiered a woozy jam that’s “Slow” and overloaded with feels.
Sonically, the self-curated track fits the serene pace of R&B today. It’s aided by ‘80s keyboard notes, and a pestering clicking in the background that gets better with each spin. The lyrics give off a similar bleak narrative that can be heard on his 2018 self-titled project. His sweet talk works here as he depicts someone who wants to take it easy in a relationship.
“Slow” follows his 2018 one-off single “One Night Stand,” which came after the release of his eponymous EP. The new song is also his first release since departing from Def Jam, and inking a deal with RoseGold Records.
“Hyped to finally share what I’ve been working on with y’all! More tunes coming soon,” wrote Rosselvelt on his Instagram.
