R&B duo Louis York (Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony) reminds the world that nothing can disrupt a strong love bond with their new single “Don’t You Forget.”
Over a lively production, Kelly passionately sings, “Dont you forget to remember me / Don’t let it slip from your memories / Don’t you forget to remember forever / Even when the nights and days get rough / Nothing on Earth’s gonna shake our love.”
The nostalgic tune epitomizes feel-good music. From the live instruments to the soulfully-rich vocals, “Don’t You Forget” will certainly make Saturday morning chores more enjoyable — or if you’re feeling frisky, it can easily be added to a lovemaking playlist.
In an interview with Rated R&B, Louis York shared their inspiration behind creating the song. “I think what started it was just the need to fill in the gaps of what we thought was missing from music,” Kelly explained. “We’re fans of music first, so for us, it’s always about not being repetitive and not doing what everyone else is doing. We wanted it to be a celebration of us — Black excellence, musicianship, melodies, harmony and instruments.”
“Don’t You Forget” is the lead single from their forthcoming debut album, The American Griots, which releases on October 18 via Weirdo Workshop.
