Sabrina Claudio’s new era is shaping up to be her best one yet. Weeks after dropping a new song and video (“Holding the Gun”), the shadowy R&B artist has released another audio and video combo for “On My Shoulders.”
Claudio’s sedative undertones are as cold as the production of the cursed record. Her heart is held captive by the hands of two demons that won’t turn it loose. In her tortuous self-directed visual, fans get a closer look at the identity of the evil spirit pair that has her bound.
Speaking on the song and video, Claudio wrote on Instagram, “This was a passion project for me as I relate to this on a whoooole ‘nother level.”
She continued, “Conceptually about fighting our own demons, no matter how tempting & convincing they can be, in order to believe that we are worthy of love. in other words, I got mad trust issues…”
“On My Shoulders” is the fourth song to come from Claudio this year. In addition to the sultry track mentioned above, she shared two other tracks: “All My Love” featuring Wale and “As Long As You’re Sleep.”
Claudio will treat fans to these songs live on her Truth Is Tour. She will be joined by Gallant as special guest for the trek, which begins on September 21 in Los Angeles.
