PJ Morton has a slow-burning hit on his hands. Twenty-one weeks after making a splash on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart, his “Say So” duet with JoJo enters the top 10 this week.
This chart accomplishment is Morton’s and JoJo’s very first top 10 entry. His prior best had been a No. 12 peak for “First Began,” which appears on his Grammy-nominated Gumbo Unplugged album. For JoJo, her inaugural appearance on the Adult R&B Songs chart has notched her a breakout hit.
On urban adult contemporary radio, “Say So” is generating the same response. The majestic collaboration has moved from No. 13-9 this week, with airplay at 75 monitored radio stations. The duet is close to reaching 4 million listeners.
“Say So” is the lead single from Morton’s latest album, Paul, which is out now. In our in-depth review, we describe Paul as “a solid album that is packed with positive affirmations to comfort anyone who is going through a tough time.”
On October 5, Morton is headed out on a world tour to support his new album. Tickets are available now on his official website.
