Ne-Yo is helping spread joy this holiday with his first-ever Christmas album titled Another Kind of Christmas.
The 11-track LP includes five original songs penned by Ne-Yo himself, including “Just Ain’t Christmas” and “Open Mine Tonight.”
“Just Ain’t Christmas” is a relatable track for those who have experienced heartbreak during the holidays.
Ne-Yo doesn’t dwell too much on pain, though. “Open Mine Tonight” is a steamy tune that finds two lovers unwrapping each other’s ‘gifts’ in the bedroom.
The other half of the album features reimagined versions of Christmas classics such as “Someday At Christmas” and Marvin Gaye’s “I Want To Come Home For Christmas.”
The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter also enlisted help from Candice Boy, RaVaughn, Satori and Dre Island for the festive set.
Another Kind of Christmas is Ne-Yo’s first project to release since his 2018 album, Good Man. The album featured guest appearances from PartyNextDoor, Eric Bellinger, Candice Boyd, Sam Hook, Bebe Rexha, Stefflon Don and Romeo Santos. The title track, produced by DJ Camper, peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart
