Are you in the mood for some classical music? Dev Hynes a.k.a. Blood Orange has just released his Fields album, in collaboration with Grammy-winning quartet Third Coast Percussion.

For the Cedille Records release, Hynes composed 13 evergreen masterpieces that were rendered in a memorable way by the elite quad.

“This was the first time I’ve written music that I’ve never played, and I love that,” he revealed in a statement. “It’s something I’ve always been striving to get to. Seeing what Third Coast Percussion had done with these pieces was magical.”

Fields marks Hynes’ first-ever classical music album. The showpiece follows another career first, his star-studded Angel’s Pulse mixtape, which was released in July. The inaugural project is now being sold physically on various listening formats, including cassette, CD, and on hot-pink vinyl.

Hynes is currently playing select dates on Tyler, The Creator’s IGOR Tour. He will also set to perform at Tyler’s Can amp Flog Gnaw Festival in November.
