Rising singer-songwriter Guordan Banks has returned with his sophomore album titled Blood On the Vinyl.
For the 11-song project, the Philadelphia native worked closely with Cosmic Caviar. The album features the lead single “Can’t Keep Runnin’,” which interpolates The Gap Band’s classic “Yearning For Your Love.”
Banks describes the sound of the LP as cosmic R&B.
He wrote on Instagram, “When the rest of the world sees a wall we see a window. Blood On The Vinyl is just a reminder to give it your all especially when no one’s looking. Lose yourself in the process. Break down as many times as it takes but remember your God’s child. Remember no weapon form against you shall prosper. Remember to not focus on controlling the outcome but your power is your complete control over the process! Leave it all on the table!”
Blood On the Vinyl is the follow-up to Banks’ 2017 debut album, Unpopular, which featured guest appearances from T-Dot illdude and Sonyae Elise.
