Soulful newcomer Baby Rose has dropped a new song “August 5th,” a track inspired by her 25th birthday.
The song beautifully blends her smokey voice with an enduring sonic landscape of string swells and stirring guitar riffs. Throughout, Rose looks back on the highs and lows of her life, ultimately realizing that the best way to navigate life is to just let it happen.
“I’m always at the end of a road / always trying to see how it goes (I know) / I’m always trying to get out my way / always thinking this stays the same / only thing that it does is change” Rose sings on the hook.
Rose will be on the road with Snoh Aalegra for her Ugh, a mini tour again Tour, along with fellow rising star Giveon later this month. Tickets are available now.
The North Carolina native released her debut album, To Myself, back in August.
