Usher has teamed up with Ella Mai for his new single “Don’t Waste My Time.”
Co-produced by Bryan-Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri, the midtempo groove finds the two singers exchanging flirty verses.
Usher sings, “You got a motive, and I think I like it / I know all your, insecurities / I hope that you’re open / My body gives notice / And I want your, energy.”
“Ooh, late night / Coffee in the morning, what a date night / Better play right / Don’t be trippin’ when you leanin’, better lay right,” Mai sings in the second verse.
“Don’t Waste My Time” is seemingly the first single from Usher’s forthcoming album Confessions 2, which is the sequel to his 2004 diamond-selling album Confessions.
Confessions 2 will be Usher’s first album since 2016’s Hard II Love.
Usher is scheduled to perform at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2020 in New Orleans for the central time zone celebration.
