Get your tissues ready. Grammy Award-winning musician John Legend is back with a tear-jerking track titled “Conversations in the Dark.”
Reminiscent of his hit song “All of Me,” the singer-songwriter’s latest offering is a ballad that includes themes of unconditional love and being loyal to your partner through thick and thin.
“I won’t ever try to change you, change you / I will always want the same you, same you / Swear on everything I pray to / That I won’t break your heart,” Legend croons on the track.
The song’s lyric video features home videos of couples. They can be seen enjoying life’s pleasurable moments, adding to the song’s natural sentimental feeling.
The release of “Conversations in the Dark” coincides with Legend’s appearance on This Is Us, which will air this Tuesday on NBC.
Legend is set to perform at “Let’s Go Crazy: The GRAMMY® Salute to Prince” concert on January 28 along with Alicia Keys, H.E.R. and more.
