Luke James is warming things up in the first quarter with his new album To Feel Love/D. The sophomore LP comes six years after his self-titled debut effort.
Released via Culture Collective / Howling Nights, To Feel Love/D features appearances from BJ The Chicago Kid, Ro James, Samoht, Kirk Franklin and Big K.R.I.T.
James shared with Essence that he doesn’t count his debut eponymous album as a part of his discography.
“Now, this is me, this is all me,” he said. “This is me writing it from top to bottom, this is what I want to do. This is music I actually like, actually love of myself, actually feel. I’m in a place of only doing what I love to do. This album is a body of work that is just a culmination of experiences and ideas, music that I’ve lived with for a while. I’d like to think of this album as more of a bridge into my new endeavors as an independent artist.”
James is currently on tour in support of the new album.
