Break out those rose petals. Smooth serenader Noel Gourdin wants you to know he’s “Lovin Up (You)” on a romantic new single featuring Regi Myrix.
Written by Gourdin and Canita Rogers and produced by Tone Jonez and Regi Myrix, “Lovin Up (You)” details a man’s pure infatuation with his lover and how his love is simply for her and no one else.
“I, ain’t lovin’ up no one up but you / Baby, I swear to you it’s you, you, you,” Gourdin croons on the song’s chorus.
“I wanted to record a light-hearted record for the project because Marquis Green and I had written some pretty heavy-toned records (Strugglin’, Low Down) prior to me writing “Lovin’ Up,” Gourdin said about the track.
He continued, “I am now in an amazing new relationship, and I’m incredibly happy. So I’d say that she played a huge role in the inspiration and motivation department for me to create this record as I did.”
“Lovin Up (You)” is the Boston native’s first single since 2017’s “If I Was Santa Claus.” The singer-songwriter released his album City Heart, Southern Soul in 2014.
