Amber Mark isn’t the one to shy away from covers. With time on her hands, the burgeoning singer/songwriter has decided to go the rock route with her latest cover of “Heart-Shaped Box” by the band Nirvana.
Ditching the electric guitars, Mark begins the track a cappella and backed by lush vocal harmonies. The beat slowly pieces together as the strings and shekere come together to form the mellow, electro-soul cover.
Mark teased the cover on social media in March as a part of her #COVERED19 series. She’s suggested fans to follow her playlist by the same name so it’s likely that she’ll be giving us more unique covers down the line.
The cover is sonically different than the sensual and string heavy single “Generous” she released in January.
