After appearing as a special guest on NBC’s Songland on Monday night, H.E.R. releases a new song titled “Wrong Places.”
Over an acoustic guitar production, created by DJ Camper, the 22-year-old expresses her desire to find love with the right person.
“Looking for love in all the wrong places / Looking for us in all the wrong faces (Faces) / I’m always looking for lust when / I’m wine-drunk and faded Looking for love, I think we should make it,” she sings in the first verse.
Songland is where “undiscovered songwriters are put center stage as they pitch their original creations to top recording artists and a panel of chart-topping music producers in the hopes of creating the artists’ next big hits.”
“Wrong Places” includes songwriting credit from Raquel Castro, Zachary Powell, Shane McAnally, Ryan Tedder, H.E.R., Ester Dean and DJ Camper.
H.E.R. has been keeping busy amid the pandemic. Aside from her Girls With Guitars series on Instagram Live, she has recently performed for the NFL Draft and BET’s COVID-19 Relief Effort.
