Try to imagine what the month of April would sound like without Mýa releasing new music.
For another year, the Grammy-winning superstar commemorates the anniversary of her self-titled debut album with a new song. “You Got Me, Pt. II” is the sequel to the snappy slow groove from her 2018 T.K.O. album.
Unlike the antecedent record, which has a sexual approach, the upgraded version has more of an intoxicating ‘90s feel that describes someone caught in the rapture of love.
“Ooh maybe it’s your skin tone that got me feelin’ safe and warm (yeah) / Or maybe it’s your smile / Got me out here travelin’ miles / Or could it be that sexy voice that leaves a girl wit’ no choice?,” she ponders on the second verse.
Last year in April, Mýa released a beautiful visual for “Down” off her T.K.O. release. Prior to her April digital drop, she teamed up with Tink for “G.M.O. (Got My Own).”
