Kem has long been a favorite on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart and now has claimed his 12th top 10 single with “Lie To Me.”
The love song marks the charming veteran’s first top 10 success since 2016, when “Promise To Love,” the title track of his last album, peaked at No. 5.
Kem had a close shot at cracking the top 10 region again in 2016 with Gregory Porter’s “Holding On.” Their joint effort made it to No. 13.
At urban AC radio, “Lie To Me” has advanced into the top 10 realm. If the Derek “DOA” Allen co-produced cut continues to break ground on the airplay format, there will be no excuse for Kem not to achieve his sixth chart-topper in the coming weeks.
This winning new jam is the first taste of Kem’s next album due out later this year via Motown Records.
