After much anticipation, Ro James has finally released his new track “Plan B” featuring R&B legend Brandy.
On the DJ Camper-produced tune, James shows how patient he can be when it comes to love. He is willing to wait until his love interest realizes that he is ultimately the right pick.
“So if you can’t find someone like me / I’ll be right here baby, I’ll be right here baby / Don’t stress it, we can always go to plan B,” he sings on the chorus.
Meanwhile, Brandy lends her soothing vocals to the background and also provides some ad libs, which take the song up a notch.
In a recent interview with Rated R&B, Brandy talked about her role in creating the song. “Ro James has been so supportive over the years. He’s been to many of my studio sessions just hearing the new music and giving his opinion, so it’s only right he came by one of the sessions and played me ‘Plan B,'” she said.
She added, “It was kind of already done. He was like, ‘What can you do on it?’ I was like, ‘Let me just sing around you, add some harmonies and put a bunch of ghost vocals on the song.’ And that’s what happened. I love what he allowed me to do. It’s a beautiful song.”
“Plan B” follows James’ previously shared songs “Excuse Me,” “Last Time” and “Touchy Feely.” All four songs will appear on James’ upcoming album, Mantic, which will arrive on May 29 via ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records. James’ sophomore effort will also include features from Miguel and Masego.
