It’s rare to see Alicia Keys perform in an intimate setting but fans will experience an up close and personal vibe with her on the latest installation of NPR’s Tiny Desk series.
Her set featured songs from her upcoming studio album, ALICIA, as well as a classic smash hit. She opened up with a suave rendition of “Show Me Love.”
The NPR crowd was in for a special treat as Keys debuted a new song, “Gramercy Park.”
“I love what this song means because I think a lot of what I’ve been thinking about, on my own personal journey, is kind of how much we contort and conform and adjust ourselves all the time,” Keys shared as she introduced the song. “With the best of intentions, by the way. It’s from the most beautiful place. We want people to feel us and we want people to know how much we care about them.”
By the end, she allows the crowd to choose between “No One” and “Fallin'” for her last song. They went with latter to cap the show.
