The piano man strikes again.
Nearly three months after releasing his piano-led EP, While You Wait, Tank returns with the sequel Worth The Wait.
Like most of the tunes on his antecedent release, the R&B general accompanies them with his lovely piano work. Vocally and lyrically, Tank makes use of his buttery vocal tone to conjure up the many messages of love and render them effortlessly to his female companion.
In contrast to While You Wait, Worth The Wait has a guest appearance. Emerging singer Ashley Jay joins Tank for “Take Me Away,” a beautiful duet that is indeed a highlight of the four-track project.
Tank recently spoke to Rated R&B about his tenth studio album, which is due out sometime later this year. He promised that follow-up to 2019’s Elevation will “be a situation.”
“I’m going to make myself uncomfortable by making sure I get the tempo out there for people to respect,” he said. “Even with the people that I do records with, too.”
In partnership with Keith Sweat and iHeartRadio, Tank will be performing a special live at-home concert tonight (June 12) to celebrate Black Music Month. Available for streaming on ksweatlive.com, the free show starts promptly at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST.
