Grammy-winner H.E.R. is giving us island vibes on “Do To Me,” her latest reggae-infused single following her collaboration with Skip Marley on “Slow Down.”
Interpolating Sister Nacy’s reggae staple “Bam Bam,” the summer-tinged track oozes reggae influences with blaring horns, wonky guitar plucks, and traditional ad-libs that occupy the genre.
Lyrically, the sultry songstress explains how she is hooked on her lover. “You say bye, baby, let me be wrong / On my mind like my favorite song / Promise me you won’t leave me ‘lone,” she belts on the track.
“Do To Me” arrives shortly following H.E.R.’s politically-charged “I Can’t’ Breathe” song and video. No word if either song will appear on an upcoming project.
The California-native also recently unveiled H.E.R. x DIFF sunglasses collection with DIFF Charitable Eyewear.
