Queen Naija is having a Bernadine from Waiting To Exhale moment on her new track “Pack Lite.”
The familiar instrumentation of the cautious kiss-off revolves around classic R&B by Mack Browne & The Brothers, Zapp & Roger and Erykah Badu.
Lyrically, Naija broods about her uncaring partner who is taking advantage of her love and time. She sends vengeful warning shots to him, bringing him a swarm of heat words that might cause him to temporarily visit his mother’s or a friend’s house.
“I done had my share of being walked all over, now I’m smarter,” sings Naija. “You can think I’m wrong all you want but that truth got you so bothered.”
“Pack Lite” is the latest track lifted from Naija’s highly awaited debut album. It follows the Wale-assisted remix and acoustic version to her growing R&B hit “Butterflies Pt. 2.” The sequel to her 2018 platinum single is currently at No. 12 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
