Genre-blending trio Your Grandparents — which consists of vocalists DaCosta, Jean Carter, and producer ghettoblasterman — have released their new single titled “So Damn Fly.”
Over a psychedelic production, the Los Angeles-based group offers uplifting words for their peers. “You don’t even need no plane / You flyin’ / Your movement is based in ya guidance / You don’t even show no shame / Shit, you wildin’ / I can’t even blame you / Ya solid,” they sing on the chorus.
Speaking on their new single, they shared in a statement, “[It’s] an ode to the unapologetically beautiful, black, and bold youth of today. We hope the way this song builds and evolves will leave our listeners in awe.”
“So Damn Fly” is the first offering from their upcoming album that is slated to arrive later this year via The Orchard. It will follow their debut EP, Been Cold, which dropped in 2019.
