As Brandy gears up to release B7, she delivers a new track titled “Rather Be,” which was produced by DJ Camper.
Co-written by Brandy, Victoria Monét, DJ Camper and Antonio Dixon, “Rather Be” finds the R&B legend gushing over her partner.
“You know I love you down deep within / You’re my best friend / When we are together it feels like forever / Ain’t nobody like you,” she sings in the second verse.
“Rather Be” is the follow-up to Brandy’s Chance the Rapper-assisted track “Baby Mama,” which dropped in May. The Hit-Boy-produced anthem entered the top 10 at urban adult contemporary radio last month.
B7 is set to arrive on July 31. In an interview with Rated R&B, shared what she hopes fans take away after listening to the album. “I want this to be an album for people to listen to all the way through,” she said. “I hope that I can inspire everyone to not give up on their dreams. Whatever they feel that’s holding them back, they can push through that situation.”
