R&B icon K-Ci Hailey unveils his testimony of the power of God in his inspirational video for “Jesus Saves.”
Originally written and recorded at the age of 12, “Jesus Saves” serves as a full-circle moment for Hailey as he details his alcohol addiction and 2018 stroke in the tear-jerking visual.
“It was my grandmother’s favorite song, and all my aunties and everybody they just loved that song… this is what we needed. The title alone explains itself,” Hailey said in an interview.
He added, “I wanted to go back and let the people know like you heard me talking about ‘baby I love you,’ …but now I want to go back to roots where I started. And let my gospel fans out there, let my family and friends know I haven’t forgot y’all.”
Earlier this summer, Hailey paid tribute to his friend and late music mogul Andre Harrell with a rendition of Eric Clapton’s 1992 hit “Tears In Heaven.”
