Two new Sunni Colón tracks are better than one. The progressive artist has released his first two tracks of 2020: “Penny For Your Thoughts” and “Slip n Slide.”
Speaking on the latter track, which has an ultra-organic quality to its wobbly tuned instrumentation, Colón said it’s “about getting in tune with the self and others around you. I really just wanted to make something beautiful.”
On the self-produced “Penny For Your Thoughts,” Colón blends piano playing with light xylophone sounds that work well against the subject matter of one sharing their most intimate thoughts.
The two tracks are the first sounds from Colón since last year’s “Supernova.” They also come on the heels of his music (“Technicolor”) being featured on season four of HBO’s Insecure.
