Trey Songz is “Back Home” in the top 10 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart this week, as his Summer Walker-assisted single moves four spots to No. 7. It is Songz’s third top 10 hit on this chart.
Songz’s best move on the Adult R&B Airplay was in 2014, when “What’s Best For You,” from the deluxe edition to his Trigga album, reached the number one position. He ruled the top of the same chart for the first time in 2011 for “Can’t Be Friends.”
Turning the dial back to “Back Home,” the Hitmaka-produced track has gained more than 16.7 million listens on Spotify.
Days prior to releasing his first single of 2020, Songz gave his fans streaming access to his Anticipation I and Anticipation II mixtapes. He later followed up with the politically-charged “2020 Riots: How Many Times,” and the fan-favorite track “Circles.”
In July, Songz’s debut album I Gotta Make It celebrated its 15th anniversary. Rated R&B spotlighted five deep cuts from the album. Revisit the editorial here.
