Ginette Claudette was On to Something in 2018. Now, nearly two years later, the promising singer/songwriter and new mother lets her bubbling fanbase Inside with her latest EP.
Claudette called on August Rigo, who worked a few cuts from the 2018 project, to produce the entire new record.
She spoke to Rated R&B in 2018 about Rigo helping her share her confidence through her music. “Just developing that relationship in the studio and him just being able to know me as a person is what helped me peel back the layers because it’s hard to get in a room with a complete stranger and then just open your heart up,” she said.
Elaborating on Inside, Claudette said to Digital Journal, “It’s an introspective project that I made while I was stuck inside because it forced me to have to look inside myself.” She continued, “These songs are a representation of my growth as a woman in the last two years. A woman that I’m proud of. A wife, a mama and a badass artist.”
Much of Inside sounds like a nostalgic ride, with breathy and iridescent vocals that work well against the feel-good pop-R&B production.
