The anticipation for the video to The Shindellas’ single “Fear Has No Place” is over. The Nina “Teapot” Owens-directed visual has arrived, and it’s amazing from start to finish.
The video begins with a famous sound bite about what fear means from the cult-icon Nina Simone. It then flips to Tamara of the R&B trio, clad in a sequin jumpsuit with the other members (Kasi, Stacy), singing the empowering tune by a running stream. Stacy gets a piece of the action in the next scene, where she belts the words of feeling unafraid in vintage attire.
The Shindellas make one more outfit change to show the power in unity, as they give their all to cast out any doubt of fear.
“We hope that this song speaks to the women who want to start their own business but don’t feel encouraged, for the woman asking for equal pay and for Kamala Harris who may one day be helping to run this country,” The Shindellas said in a joint statement. “We all face obstacles and setbacks but fear can’t be part of the equation to move forward to lead on the road to greatness.”
“Fear Has No Place,” produced by Louis York, is the first offering from The Shindellas since dropping their debut EP, Genesis, in December 2019.
