It’s been less than a year since K. Michelle released All Monsters Are Human, one of Rated R&B’s 30 best R&B albums of 2020. But the Memphis native has recently opened up on Instagram about her plans to release her sixth studio album in the first quarter of 2021.
Going down memory lane in a series of posts, K. Michelle recounted some of her favorite moments within the genre. One of the posts included her fierce remix of Cardi B’s 2018 anthem “Money,” where she wrote in the caption, “Clearing videos to say bye to R&B in 2020.”
After fans assumed they weren’t getting more R&B music, she eased their mind with a lengthy post that was first featured in her Instagram story. While letting them know she wasn’t abandoning the sound that catapulted her career, K revealed that she would be releasing a new R&B album in February. Check out the full post below.
Few details are surrounding the forthcoming release. As previously stated, the LP will be a follow-up to All Monsters Are Human. The new record is also the precursor to her long-awaited, oft-delayed country album, which is expected to feature collaborations with Billy Ray Cyrus, Eric Paslay, and Dolly Parton.
