Jamie Foxx has been on daddy duties for 27 years, supporting and loving his daughter Corinne Foxx through all stages of her beautiful life. Their unbreakable father-daughter bond is the inspiration behind Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, a new Netflix sitcom.
The comedy series, which premieres on April 14, will follow Brian Dixon (Jamie), the head of a cosmetic company, who overnight became a full-time father to his teenage daughter Sasha (Kyle-Drew).
Realizing that it takes a village to raise a child, Dixon leans on his dad (David Alan Grier) and his sister (Porscha Coleman) for familial guidance and support to adapt to his new normal.
The scripted show was directed by Ken Whittingham and executive produced by Jamie, Corinne, and Bentley Kyle Evans, the former showrunner behind ‘90s sitcoms Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show.
Jamie, who starred in the Disney+ highlight Soul, is nominated for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance — Motion Picture at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards.
December 2020 marked the 15th anniversary of Jamie’s Grammy-nominated album, Unpredictable. Rated R&B celebrated the milestone with exclusive commentary from Mike City, Sean Garrett, Harold Lilly, RL, and Mr. Collipark. Revisit the editorial here.
