The NAACP has announced that Maxwell and Jazmine Sullivan are set to perform during the live broadcast of its 52nd Image Awards. The ceremony will air live on Saturday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET on BET.

The special performance will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Maxwell’s groundbreaking debut album, Urban Hang Suite, which was released on April 2, 1996.

“So excited to perform on the 52nd @NAACPImageAwards, March 27 2021 on @BET. Much love to my sister @JazmineSullivan who is also performing,” Maxwell shared on Instagram.

Sullivan, who recently performed during the national anthem at Super Bowl LV, is also nominated for Outstanding Female Artist at the prestigious award ceremony. Other women in the category include Beyoncé, H.E.R., Ledisi and Alicia Keys.

Presenters for the live show include Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Alicia Keys, Golden Globe-winning actress/Grammy-nominated singer Andra Day, Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, Grammy-winning producer Swizz Beatz and more.

In other news, Maxwell recently announced his exclusive sunglasses collection with STATE Optical Co. The name of the line is called REUNION, which was inspired by the song that appears on his 2x multi-platinum album Urban Hang Suite.
