Robin Thicke is full of love and starry-eyed on his cheery new song “Perfect Holiday.”
It features a co-production credit from the veteran’s longtime collaborator Pro-Jay, who first worked with him on 2006’s The Evolution of Robin Thicke.
A pleasant, piano-driven paean for seasonal sparks of romance, “Perfect Holiday” will have you holding your companion much tighter under the mistletoe.
“Baby, cheers to you and me / I see the mistletoe / Don’t need no breath mint, baby / Ooh your lips, they taste so sweet / Can you save a kiss? / Save a kiss for me,” he sings in the first verse.
Thicke released his most recent album On Earth, and in Heaven in February. His first album in six years featured the hit single “Look Easy,” which peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart in August.
“I was inspired by watching these people jump to the front lines to take care of others,” explained Thicke to Rated R&B about his chart-topping anthem.
“Even though the lyric wasn’t originally written that way, that’s what it felt. You make love look easy. You make tough times look easy. I thought that was an inspiring message.”
