R&B-pop sensation Khalid has earned his first diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His debut single, “Location,” has sold more than 10 million equivalent units since releasing in 2017. The Grammy-nominated song makes history as the 75th record to achieve this feat.

“Location” appears on Khalid’s debut album, American Teen, which celebrated its fifth anniversary on March 3. The official video has been viewed more than 525 million times on YouTube.

Speaking of American Teen, the Grammy-nominated album is now certified 4x multi-platinum with more than four million equivalent units sold.

A few other tracks on the album have gained new certifications, including “8TEEN” (3x multi-platinum) and “Coaster” (2x multi-platinum). “Young Dumb & Broke,” the album’s second single, is approaching diamond status at 9x multi-platinum.

Khalid went to Instagram to express his gratitude for his latest career achievements. He wrote, “Thank you to everyone who made this possible! American Teen is an album that changed my life forever and I’ll always be grateful for the love you guys give me. 4x platinum!!!”

This month, Khalid returned with his new proper single “Last Call,” which he co-wrote with Jamil Chammas.

“I’m really excited to share ‘Last Call’ with all my fans. It’s important to me to commemorate this day and look back at everything that has happened. I can’t believe it’s been 5 years already,” Khalid said in a statement. “I hope you guys enjoy it and celebrate with me and all we’ve done together.”

“Last Call,” which is expected to appear on his forthcoming album Everything is Changing, is Khalid’s first release since dropping his Scenic Drive EP last December. The short-and-sweet project featured appearances from Alicia Keys, Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, 6LACK, QUIÑ, Kiana Ledé, Majid Jordan, JID and Smino.
