Trevor Jackson still has gas left in the tank for his debut album, The Love Language, released almost a year ago. The multi-hyphenate has shared a video for his current focus track, “Ride The Wave.”
Like most of his visuals, Jackson serves as both the leading man and the director, and shares the latter role with his frequent collaborator Zev York.
In the video, Jackson ventures to a calm and serene pond along with his love interest for a romantic date filled with crystals, sunflowers and meditation.
In between taking a dip in the pond, the two, in almost matching sweatsuit sets, have fun skateboarding on land. Jackson also gets solo shots of himself in front of a wavy graphic.
Jackson’s video for “Ride The Wave” follows his last Love Language clip for “Bouts to Be.”
In a spring 2021 interview with Rated R&B’s Keithan Samuels, Jackson opened up about the importance of singing about all versions of love.
“True love is the acceptance of your own flaws, the acceptance of your partner’s flaws, and the willingness to work through those flaws. Love is very complex,” said Jackson.
He added, “There are days you wake up and you can’t stand the fact that they’re just waking up next to you. Then you’re like, ‘This is why I love them.’ That’s human nature. That’s why I wanted to talk about it.”
