After a seven-year hiatus, Natalie La Rose has returned with her new single, “Tables.”

On the D’Mile-produced track, La Rose dismisses her unfaithful lover, who thinks he can creep around without her noticing. Luckily for La Rose, she is hip to his game and gets the last laugh as she entertains her other options.

“I’ll make you miss this / Thinking that it’s something you get right back / I see you switching / You are on and off like an outlet / Don’t take my for love something you can replace / I got too many waiting to take your place / Somebody who can show me right / And never wanna leave my side,” La Rose sings.

“Tables” is paired with a Hector Toro-directed video that sees the song’s lyrics unfold in its plot.

“Tables,” which La Rose co-wrote with Lucky Daye and D’Mile, is her first release since her 2015 single “Around the World” featuring Fetty Wap. In 2014, she released her debut single, “Somebody” featuring Jeremih.

The song, which interpolates Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” was certified 2x multi-platinum by the RIAA in January 2015.

In an interview with Rated R&B, La Rose shared the inspiration behind her debut track. “I am a huge fan of ’80s music and I thought it was a cool idea to have a song inspired by one of my all-time favorite songs,” La Rose said.” She teased her debut EP in the same interview, but it ultimately did not get released.

La Rose’s new single arrives on Global Sound Entertainment, a sign that she has departed from her previous label IMG/Republic Records.

“For anyone who knows me, knows that today is such a special day. I’ve been working towards this moment for quite a while with bumps and hurdles along the way,” La Rose wrote in a recent Instagram caption.
