Ye Ali has released a music video to support two songs from his Dangerous (Deluxe) project that dropped in April. The Jon Le Vert-directed visual features tracks “Permission” and “What It Is” featuring DaVohn.
The video starts with the former tune. Shot at the lavish mansion, we see Ali getting the bachelor treatment, pampered by different shades of Black women dressed in varied negligees.
Ali gets a solo scene, performing the sensual jam near a multi-pane window, before it transitions into the next track, “What It Is.” The director switches the scenery, adopting a nocturnal feel for the video’s second half, which follows Ali and his interest on a late-night drive on a backroad.
As mentioned above, both songs are taken from Ali’s Dangerous (Deluxe), an expanded edition of his 2021 effort. The upgraded version includes five new songs, plus an extended version of “BS” from the previous release. He also recruited DCMBR for two songs and rising singer Nikki Hayes for one. Both versions of Dangerous were executive produced by seasoned hitmaker Troy Taylor.
Earlier this month, Ali collaborated with Maurice Moore and Jermaine Elliott on “22.” The previous month, he received a producer and co-songwriting credit for “Pitch Black,” a song taken from Chris Brown’s latest album Breezy.
Ali is working on another album. Earlier this month, he held an inaugural writing camp for the new material in Los Angeles, California.
