Queen Naija and Big Sean’s collaboration “Hate Our Love” most-played R&B song in the country this week (Sept. 17).

The song has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It marks Naija’s fourth consecutive leader on this chart and the first Big Sean.

Naija was last seen on top of the Adult R&B list in November 2020 with “Butterflies. Pt. 2.” The song, lifted from her 2020 debut album Missunderstood, spent one week at the summit.

The same happened for “Karma,” which scored a single week at the top of the summit in May 2019.

“Medicine,” also taken from Naija’s self-titled debut EP, rose to the pole position. Her first No. 1 single checked in for five weeks, starting in the Dec. 7, 2018, issue.

Released on Feb. 4, “Hate Our Love” serves as Naija’s first official release of 2022. A Cam Busby-directed music video arrived a few weeks later. Since then, the collaboration has amassed streams of almost 19 million on Spotify.

Discussing the single in a press statement, Naija said, “What I’d like for people to take away from ‘Hate Our Love’ is don’t let anybody come in between anything or anyone that you love.”

She added, “I’m so excited to finally collaborate with Big Sean on a record… it’s been a dream of mine for a while now. With both of us being from Detroit, it felt like the perfect match up and I hope everyone loves the song!”

“Hate Our Love” is the lead single from Naija’s forthcoming sophomore album on Capitol Records. As mentioned above, her first proper album, Missunderstood, dropped in October 2020.

She reissued the album and titled it Missunderstood…Still. The LP featured guest appearances by Lucky Daye, Kiana Ledé, Latto, and Lil Durk, among others.

Naija recently teased her forthcoming “Game Over” collaboration with Babyface. It will appear on his next album, Girls’ Night Out, arriving on Oct. 29. No official release date has been announced for their new song. However, it can be pre-saved here.

Starting Sept. 17, Naija will perform nationwide on Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous Tour. Get more information on tickets and dates here.
