Emerging singer Samaria has returned with her new single “Still Got 4ever.”
Produced by Neenyo, Keanu and Colby, “Still Got 4ever” hears Samaria pleading for her partner to help make their relationship work instead of calling it quits.
“But you’ve heard enough / Called my bluff / You could give a f**k / Worte me off / Leave it be / Since you hurt enough / Just whatever you do, don’t go,” Samaria sings.
Speaking on her new track, Samaria explains, “When I wrote ‘Still Got 4ever,’ I was in a confusing place in my relationship. This was the person I had the deepest feelings for and I wrote this as a way to let them know that we still got forever to figure things out. Being in that relationship taught me that if I loved someone I should be able to set my pride and ego aside to make things work.”
Last month, the Bay Area native released her cover of The 1975’s “Somebody Else.” Her reimagined version was co-produced by Grammy winner Swagg R’Celious (H.E.R., Snoh Aalegra) and Brandon Williams.
“I first heard ‘Somebody Else’ on a friend’s playlist,” said Samaria. “We were driving from Paia to Kihei on Maui with the windows down and it felt like a dream. The day before hearing it, I had sporadically bought a plane ticket to go to an island in hopes it would make me feel better after a breakup.”
She added, “The first line of the song had me ready to run it back without even hearing the rest. I decided to cover it when I realized it had been 3 weeks since I first listened to it and I was still singing it in the shower.”
