Genre-bending artist Doechii has released a video for her SZA-assisted “Persuasive.”
The stunning visual, directed by Sara Lacombe, finds the Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) artists flirting with the camera as they show off their alluring dance moves. Doechii is seen rocking various costumes and hairstyles throughout the visual, while SZA keeps her ensembles to two looks — including one that works well under water.
“Persuasive” is lifted from Doechii’s latest EP, she / her / black bitch, out now. The five-track project includes features from Rico Nasty and Jst Ray.
“I created ‘Persuasive’ to uplift people and bring communities together, so having SZA jump on the song was a perfect fit because I’ve always connected with others over her music,” says Doechii. “Knowing that SZA is with TDE was what originally got me most excited about being on this label, so now that we have a song together it’s a full-circle moment. She really ATE! This collaboration is everything I always imagined it to be.”

Speaking of SZA, she also appears on DJ Khaled’s new song “Beautiful” with Future, which is from his latest album, God Did. Khaled dropped a summer-themed video for the track earlier this week.
In June, SZA celebrated the fifth anniversary of her critically-acclaimed debut album, Ctrl, with a deluxe edition that featured seven unreleased tracks.
“This is JUST a gift for camp ctrl . Nothing more nothing less . if u family you get it . 5 yrs is a long time . Thank you for changing my life I love you . Happy anniversary 🤍 #HAPPYCTRLANNIVERSARY,” SZA tweeted.

After winning her first Grammy in April, SZA confirmed to reporters in the press room that her sophomore album would be arriving soon. “[It’s coming] very much soon,” SZA teased. “I just actually finished it up recently in Hawaii. It’s probably my most unisex project yet — if that makes sense. It’s definitely for everybody in a different way.”
At this time, there isn’t an official release date set for SZA’s highly awaited album.
In August, SZA gained nine new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Ctrl is now 3x multi-platinum, exceeding three million equivalent sales units. A mix of singles and fan favorites from the album also gained new awards, including “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott (6x multi-platinum); “Broken Clock” (4x multi-platinum); “Garden” (2x multi-platinum); and “Normal Girl” (platinum).
