Canadian R&B singer Jon Vinyl is back with a new project a year after his Lost in You album. His new EP, Palisade, features the singles “Entice Me” and “FTU.” He recently shared a live performance of the former and first single.
Vinyl recorded Palisade in collaboration with prominent producers Akeel Henry (Givēon, Jazmine Sullivan), Kevin Kofo (Bryson Tiller, John Legend, Tink) and John Fellner (Emmanuel).
Describing the new record, Vinyl says, “Palisade is a curated soundtrack of my thoughts and emotions. A lot of people aren’t comfortable confronting their feelings. When they’re upset, they lash out. When they’re happy, the whole world sees it on the gram. There’s almost this subconscious friction between what one feels versus how they choose to act on those feelings.”
He adds, “This project really allowed me to regain internal awareness and ride the wave of emotions, rather than letting them control me. And I take those experiences straight to pen and paper. It all came to life in the most perfect way possible through Palisade. At its core, this EP was made for people who feel.”
As noted above, Palisade follows Vinyl’s Lost in You, which was released Oct. 1, 2021. The album included a string of singles, including “Deflect” and “Told You,” to name a few.
“Crafting this project was the most vulnerable I’ve ever been with my artistry. To me, music is most beautiful when you push through the discomfort of raw emotions, take risks, and most importantly, take your time,” Vinyl said at the time of the album’s release.

In 2019, Vinyl put out his debut EP, Dangerous. Since that time and in between his other projects, Vinyl kept his fans fed with a thread of songs: “Don’t Care” and “Favours.”
Later this month, Vinyl will support Palisade and his many other releases on Tone Stith’s headlining Set The Tone Tour. Get information on tickets and dates here.
