Singer/actress Ryan Destiny is back with a new single “How Many,” following 2020’s “Do You.” It arrives with an accompanying video.
Over a subtle and airy beat, Destiny delivers a message of a woman fed up, ready to call out her partner for their toxic behavior.
She flexes her vocal skills while driving home the reality that there are consequences to your actions, and eventually, you have to grow up and face them.
In discussing the song, Destiny states, “I like telling my experiences through a lens of coming out of a situation better than I came into it.”
“Hopefully smarter, wiser. This song is a piece of a puzzle to me for the music following. Including the visual. The next song will be completely different but still, help tell the story.”
Destiny sets the stage for the visual to “How Many” against a dark, dimly-lit room. She strides into the frame as a neon-lit glass box lights up and the background harmonies begin.
Destiny goes into a dance sequence, continuing to pay homage to the nostalgic vibe we have seen from some of our favorite women of R&B through the late ’90s/early ’00s.
“How Many” is Destiny’s third song release. It’s unknown if it’s the lead single to a future project. But while she has yet to give us a definitive date for other new music, there is more on the horizon.
Yet, what’s evident is that having continued progress as an actress, she felt it was necessary to get back to the musical side of things.
hi guys♥️ I’m so proud this is finally coming out, it’s definitely an introduction to a new time for me. I’m excited for more that follows, thank you so much for always being patient with me.

Music aside, Destiny is stacked with acting roles. She signed on for Oracle, a psychological-horror film, in November 2020.
Destiny will also star as Olympic medalist Claressa “T-Rex” Shields in the biographical boxing drama Flint Strong, set to premiere in 2023. Barry Jenkins wrote the screenplay and Rachael Morrison makes her directorial debut.
